Training Program
In 2004 Advanced Aeration, Inc. has conducted two training programs for our growing network of Licensed Service Providers (LSP). At our first program in May we had 11 companies and 13 representatives, and in August a total of 10 LSPs here in Texas for the training. Both seminars were a great success! We had attendees from California to Florida and from Iowa to Mexico and as far away as Korea. The highlight of our August training was a visit to Space Center Houston and dinner in the Starship Gallery.
Several of those who came for training had field experience with Vacuum Bubble® Technology (VBT™) but none had received the in-depth details of the science behind successful applications of the technology. Dr. Terrell Hoage, retired Sam Houston State University (SHSU) microbiologist, provided valuable insight into the properties of water and how they impact the microbiology of organic wastewater treatment. Other contributors at our training have been Surindar Magoo, the Technical Project Manager, Water and Wastewater Branch, Air Force Institute for Operational Health (AFIOH) and Gavin Jones, Campus Director of the Texas Research Institute for Environmental Studies, Sam Houston State University. SHSU is developing a modular system for the US Military using the VBT™ to process human waste for discharge to local waterways. Prototype results indicate reductions in BOD/TSS from 200-600 PPM to single digit PPM in less than 24 hours.
VBT™ was used in an aquaculture application at Sea Center Texas, supported by the Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) and Dr. Renard Thomas of Texas Southern University (TSU) conducted research into the effectiveness of the technology at that facility. We have been fortunate in having Dr. Thomas discuss the results of that project with our LSPs. We found that survival rates increased from between 20% and 40% to over 90% with the use of VBT™!
